Before you read this I just wanna say that this is just my opinion and I do not mean to offend anyone by it. I wouldn't normally write the lead singer of each song(because for some 'strange' reason I feel all the Hansons brothers participate equally *in playing instruments*) but someone suggested I should, and I thought -why not? Review:

Pros: An upbeat melody, definetly a great way to start the album. Although this isn't one of my favs, it surely has the potential to become a single. Great percussion by Zac, and Taylor's (very high) voice, (very different from its present status) fits perfectly with the tune. Finally Taylor's keyboarding skill are great . I think the lyrics are just amazing. I don't know whether the lyrics are original, but I haven't heard anything like it before.

Cons: Taylor's voice is really on the high side.(this is not necessarily bad in my opinion, but others think this is a problem) Although upbeat, it isn't a very catchy tune, and gets a little repetitive. Taylor sings pretty much the whole song, not leaving much for Issac and Zac.

Overall: B+ Takes a while getting used to but as with others on the album, once you start to like it you're hooked. The lyrics saved this one from a B/B-. *note: this was originally written and composed by Hanson, but the version on the CD was mixed by the Dust Brothers*.

Review:

Pros:They have a perfect ensemble. The harmonizing is outstanding, the lyrics- meaningful, the tune- catchy and just out of this world. And it sounds just as good live. Everything is just great

Cons: There arem't many problems with this song if you ask me. But others think that the song is too "made." Meaning that its a song made only for the recording, and that it features too many back up musicians. In other words the song could not be performed as well live. But once again Hanson proves these people wrong. Just listen to a sound clip of Hanson on the Jenny McCarthy show, and you can witness the power of this song live n' kicking.(sorry Julie-- just had to use that "power", "live n' kicking thing!) Again Taylor leads, but this time I feel Issac and Zac sing a lot more. (not just in the chorus, as with "Thinking Of You")

Overall: A
What can I say? The song that gave Hanson that lucky break (well I don't think it was just luck) . The song that made most of us go out and buy the CD. It was number one for more than just a few weeks, and the guys got an award from MTV for it being the best single. This song is just plain good. *note: this was originally written and composed by Hanson, but the version on the CD was mixed by the Dust Brothers*

Review:

Pros:Taylor's soulful voice really shows up on this slow ballad. The lyrics again, are great. The background "ooohs" (I don't know who sings these) really fit in with the song, and provide good structure for the song. Taylor's voice sounds more "powerful" on this song, but as he says you can hear that his voice starts to change at this point in the CD.

Cons: The lyrics although good, are very repetitve. It seems like they just say the words *weird* and *strange* over and over again. The lyrics were also hard to catch until you looked at the lyrics and followed along. Once again I don't think we hear a lot of Zac and Issac, although we can hear Zac's percussion clearly. The song (no offense guys)isn't really something very catchy, nor do I find it something I would want to listen to as a slow song.

Overall: C+
Great idea, good lyrics, but I just didn't go for the tune. I think its kinda "drab." Of course others disagree saying it's supposed to be slow, but I don't find it a really good slow song either. I usually don't skip the song when I'm listening to the CD, but I can never listen to this song more than once at a time.
